The KL Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum was established by the Polish Government in 1947 on the site on the largest Nazi concentration camp, which was set up in 1940 for prisoners from Poland. From 1942 it became one of the biggest extermination camps for the European Jews.

In recognition of its historical significance as a memorial to all who suffered and died there, the Museum was entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The tour includes visiting Auschwitz I, which was the original camp, serving as the administrative center for the whole complex and Auschwitz II – Birkenau, which was designed strictly as a concentration camp.

Includes: standard visit to KL Auschwitz and Birkenau Camps, assistance of a private english speaking tour leader, private services of the Museum local guide, rental cost of headphones, private transportation with pick up and drop off from most hotels in Krakow and a coffee break.

Route: Krakow - Auschwitz - Birkenau - Krakow

This tour is not suitable for children under 14. If you have any children under 14 that wish to participate please contact us. (We will need to contact our partners in resort to await their decision on whether these be granted special access and at Children's prices).

Operated: Daily in the morning, all year round (except some holidays).

Duration: Approx. 5.5 hrs including return drive from Krakow

Private Transport is included from most hotels. This will be confirmed to you when your booking is confirmed.

Additional Information:

• This tour is not suitable for children under 14.
• This tour has no stops, please take snacks/drinks along with you.
• The coach does not have a lift for wheelchair users.
• Visiting of the Camps is done on foot.
• Minimum of passenger requirements: 5 people.
• This tour involves a fair amount of walking - The walking round Auschwitz 1 involves ascending and descending steps into buildings, walking round buildings and up and down stairs and walking over uneven ground. The second venue were you will be taken is  over a mile to the back of the camp over some rough paths.

Important Information: Please be advised that due to weather and traffic conditions, pick up and drop off times may vary.

Please Note: Photo ID is required.The Auschwitz Museum may ask for Photo ID and the Museum may refuse entry to you if you cannot provide sufficient ID. We therefore strongly advise you to bring your Passport and/or Driving Licence.
