Madrid Highlights and Royal Palace

This morning tour of Madrid highlights the rich and varied history and culture of Spain’s capital city. Enjoy a panoramic coach tour of Madrid’s Baroque and Renaissance-style buildings and visit the magnificent Royal Palace – one of the most beautiful palaces in the world!

During the tour, you’ll walk to Calle Mayor, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa and discover the medieval origins of the city, like the Arabic fortress, at the Barrio de la Morería.

See the Renaissance and Baroque-style buildings of the Hapsburgs district and the elegant architectural work of Jose Bonaparte which includes the Prado Museum.

We will get to know the contemporary Madrid when visiting Gran Vía, Paseo de la Castellana, Barrio Salamanca, Plaza de Castilla and Parque del Oeste. Catch a glimpse of Madrid’s financial district and admire contemporary architecture such as the emblematic Ventas Bullring or Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The Royal Palace

The Palace from the 18th century is the former residence of the Spanish royal family. The glittering gilded rooms of this grandiose palace, known as one of the most lavish and spectacular palaces in Europe, are rich with famous paintings, tapestries, delicate porcelain and armour.
To date, the most stunning receptions of the Spanish Crown are still celebrated here.

Departure Location: San Nicolas street nº15 (next to Plaza de Ramales). The tour ends at the Royal Palace.
