Szentendre Artists Village

Discover Szentendre, the picturesque Artist's Village in the Danube Bend. Walk along the cobbled narrow streets and taste the Hungarian speciality, so called "lángos" and even enjoy the one hour long boat tour from Szentendre back to Budapest (May – September).

Szentendre is a small baroque city built on medieval ruins, located at the gate of the Danube Bend. The town is considered to be the Artist's Village or the Painters' Town. (The bus ride to Szentendre takes approximately 30 minutes.) Due to the Mediterranean atmosphere and proximity to Budapest, it a popular place among locals and visitors alike.   

First we walk around the historical centre and take a look at the cobble stoned narrow streets, baroque houses and churches. We invite you for a "Lángos" (fried Hungarian flat bread) and after the guided tour you can also visit some of the fantastic museums (for example the famous Margit Kovács Ceramic Museum or the Confectionery Museum with Marzipan figures) where you can buy some typical Hungarian souvenirs.

In summer (May-September) we return to Budapest by boat taking in the wonderful sights along the way. The tour ends in the city centre (pier).

Ticket Information

Tour Availability: Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between April and October. Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays between November and March.

Meeting Time: Please be at meeting point at least 30min before departure time.

Departure Time: 10.00am/14.00pm

Duration: 4h approx.

Meeting Point: Pick up from all hotels.

Inclusions: Pick up from hotels, English speaking guide, Hungarian Fried Bread and cruise between May and September.

From 1st April 2020, pick up at hotels will not be longer possible. Clients will be required to arriva at the Cityrama Budapest office. Pick ups are available on a private basis for an additional cost, please contact us for a price.

Exclusions: Drop off at hotels, instead drop off is at Pier 7 at Vigado ter in the centre of Budapest between May and September, additional food and drinks, entrance fees to the museums and any other services not mentioned above.

Additional Information: Please note that the boat service between Szentendre and Budapest is available only between May and September. In case of low water and during the winter time return to Budapest will be by bus.
